Dahi Vada is a popular snack in India. Dahi Vada are dumplings made from white lentils (urad daal) and soaked in a yogurt sauce. Dahi vadas can be eaten as a snack or as part of the meal. The north indian dahi vada is made slightly differently than the south indian version. In the north indian version of dahi vada, we just add the saunth or tamarind chutney sprinkled with some spice mixes. in the south indian version, the curd (yogurt) is lightly sweetened and then tempered. At home we prefer both the versions and the dahi vadas get over really quickly. So try out this all time favorite sweet and salty dahi vade recipe !!!
Ingredients
- Urad daal(white lentils) – 1/2 cup
- Yoghurt – 1 1/2 cup
- Sugar – 2 spoon
- Salt – 1 1/2 spoon
- Black salt – 1/2 spoon
- Roasted cumin powder – 1/2 spoon
- Red chilli powder – 1/4 spoon
- Chopped coriander – 1 spoon
- Oil to fry vade
